When I was trying to install WordPress on WAMP server, I got an error. I thought the problem is with the WAMP software.
But the error was showing something wrong with the computer.
If you install WAMP in Windows computer and try to run by clicking to its icon, you will see an error showing that MSVCR120.DLL is missing from your computer.
The number may vary. I got the “MSVCR110.DLL” error.
In this tutorial, I am going to show you how to fix “MSVCR120.DLL is missing” error in no time.
Why Are You Getting This Error?
You should know that in Windows, there are some files of Visual C++ which are required for many softwares.
And when you try to run WAMP, it shows the required files. But during the installation, no one notices anything and gets an error as shown below.
Microsoft has created different files for each version of Visual C++.
If your computer doesn’t have any of the file required for the use of software, you will get an error.
Sometimes, when you look to the number of installed softwares and files in your computer, you may find it odd to see the similar kind of files.
If you delete those files, damn, you have generated an environment for the error message.
Fix This Error By Downloading Visual C++ Files.
People will promise you to give the clear files but you should never trust anyone.
Download the files from the official website of Microsoft.
Whenever you try to download, each Visual C++ version will have two or three files. Download theme all.
Let me show you some names of the files.
Visual C++ Redistributable Packages For Visual Studio 2010.
Visual C++ Redistributable Packages For Visual Studio 2013.
Visual C++ Redistributable For Visual Studio 2015.
Visual C++ Redistributable 2010 Packages (×64).
Visual C++ Redistributable 2010 Packages (×86).
The list may go on.
Each package consists a few files. Most of them consist two.
But if you find three then no worry, just download those files.
After downloading, start the setup for each package.
Install all the files to your computer.
Now try to install the WAMP software or any other software which was showing the missing error. Start it again and if you don’t see any error then boom, you have done the job.
You have successfully removed the file missing error.
Which File Should You Download?
As I have mentioned before, whenever you try to install WAMP or any other software, you will see the list of required files.
It will have the version number with the type of file.
Some softwares don’t require the versions older than 2008 but a few require 2005 version. Every file is available on the Microsoft website.
You can also check those files in your computer where all the installed softwares and files are present.
Can You Now Fix “MSVCR120.DLL Is Missing” Error?
Most of the time, people freak out and change their Windows.
Well, it may be the solution. You just backup your whole data and re-install the Windows. But why would you do that when you can fix it just with a few files.
Sometimes, one only file can solve this problem. Suppose you have deleted the older files of Visual C++ 2005.
So no need to download other packages. Just download 2005 version. I hope now you can fix this error.
